The owners live on the upper floor keeping the entire ground floor - The Garden Apartment - as a completely self-contained guest apartment with wonderful views of the gardens and surrounding mountains.

This is a stunning villa in immaculate condition having been restored both tastefully and with great care. It is a pleasure to see and intrigues with its seclusion, shady terraces and wonderfully extensive garden. Being both private and secluded it is a place of great tranquility while nonetheless being wonderfully practical set as it is amidst the lovely, verdant countryside on the edge of the La Safor National Park. This area while both convenient and friendly is surrounded by the most spectacular scenery, yet both Xátiva (Jativa )[see language note] and the Blue Flag beaches of La Safor are only short drives away. Whether you want to spend the day shopping, strolling along the sand, walking, cycling or any number of other outdoor activities, we are ideally located.

The nearest airport is Valencia (60 minutes drive) with Alicante a little further (90 minutes) and directions from either are easy.

Accommodation Summary

Living Room:	Spacious lounge with 2 comfortable sofas, radio/CD, TV, DVD and satellite. Selection of DVD's and board games for adults and children Large log burning stove
Other facilities:	Covered and open terraces overlooking gardens, with table and chairs Large pool (shared with owners) with loungers/tables and chairs Barbecue (Charcoal) Bar overlooking the pool Mountain Bikes (& helmets) - 4 are available free of charge Apartment has its own security alarm system
Housekeeping:	A luxury fluffy towelling dressing gown is provided for each guest Bath and hand towels together with all linen (changed weekly) however beach towels are not included The apartment is cleaned once a week A washing machine, tumble-drier, iron and ironing board are available for guests A hair-dryer is provided A cot and high-chair are available

Suitability

• Casa Amarilla has an indoor non-smoking policy although you may smoke outside the apartment.
• No pets are allowed with the sole exception of Assistance Dogs (and then only by prior arrangement).
• Regrettably Casa Amarilla is not suitable for wheelchair access.
• Suitability for children - the apartment itself is quite child friendly but guests with young children should note:
  • There are two sets of stairs to the pool area
    • the back stairs are gated and can be locked
    • the front stairs can be shut off from the pool area however these are a flight of 21 steps and - as they are the owners main access - they cannot be shutoff at the lower end..
  • The pool does not have a shallow end having a near constant depth at around 1.5m.
  • If prospective guests find this unsuitable then we recommend the log cabins at House on the Hill which is about 5km from Casa Amarilla. These cabins have a secure gated pool area, secure grounds and no traffic being well away from the main road.
    

Language

Nearly all Spaniards are bi-lingual in that they speak Spanish (or more correctly, Castilian Spanish) plus a local language which in the case of our area is Valenciano (a dialect of Catalan). This can confuse visitors as road maps tend to use Castilian whereas road signs tend to be in Valenciano! Throughout this web-site we have used the Valenciano with the Castilian name in brackets e.g. Xátiva (Jativa), we hope this will be of help to you..
